Eagle Carving

eagle

The eagle in flight captured a trout in its talons. Standing 12″ high, with a wingspan of 18″, it is carved out of four pieces of basswood. The eagle took 9 months to complete. The pattern is from Carving Authentic Birds by H. D. Green. The wings and legs were cut separately and glued on. Feather detailing was accomplished by using a wood burner.
